What's It All About?
What is the purpose of life, and what is the point of being a Zen Pagan?
The purpose of a song is to be sung and heard.
The purpose of a dance is to be danced and seen.
The purpose of life is to be lived and appreciated.
The point of being a Zen Pagan is to acquire the wisdom, courage, compassion and vision to truly live our own lives and appreciate the lives of others.
Ultimately, it's about learning to be as content as we can be with our own lives and about deriving the profound satisfaction and fulfilment that can be gained from helping others to be as content as they can be with their lives.
Because it is an atheist form of Paganism, Zen Paganism provides a way of celebrating and connecting with nature for the ungodly.
Because it is a Pagan form of Zen, and is therefore founded in a Northern European cultural context, rather than in a Japanese, Chinese, or even Indian context, Zen Paganism provides a Zen for the West. It is a spirituality for ordinary people who are not drawn to traditional faith-based church environments.
